A weekend in Paris

By Imogen Wallis

Ah, Paris. Home to delicious croissants, historical architecture and of course, FASHION!

Immersing ourselves into the city’s scene, on 20th January team Yawn rolled out of their warm beds at the crack of dawn to head across the English Channel and set up for our third year running at trade show, Salon De La Lingerie.

A world leader in the lingerie market, the event not only offers a focus on meeting and matchmaking stockists and suppliers, but also brings the lingerie and nightwear community from across the world together for three days to discuss and discover new trends.

Excitingly, this year was an opportunity for Yawn to display our brand new pieces including new print ‘Calm Waters’ and ‘Wandering Wisteria’, available for purchase in February 2017. So, after a night of setting up and filling our bellies with delicious French cuisine, (turns out eating a whole baguette to yourself is easily doable), the team were ready to tackle the weekend ahead, meeting with press from all over Europe, potential buyers and stockists to introduce the new collection to.

A highlight of the weekend undoubtedly was seeing 2017’s new prints on the runway. Titled ‘Artist’s Studio’, the trade show’s ‘most exceptional lingerie and loungewear brands’ showcased their favorites pieces on the catwalk, representing the latest trends. We were very fortunate to be provided with the opportunity to share two outfits, including our new cotton robe, which was a huge hit with the audience.

Supported by our experience at Salon, it’s safe to say that updating our nightwear and undergarments is no longer about stocking up on your go-to basics anymore. Trends show now is the time for fashion and practicality to come together, so as you pick up your new delicates, you’ll find more and more brands offering pieces that are both practical and stylish.

We all want to look and feel good and this is a trend that Yawn has stuck by from the very beginning and will continue to do so. As we always say, quiet nights and lazy mornings deserve perfect nightwear and that includes making you feel like you could tackle a runway no matter what time of the day.
