Fabric Care

Yawn's Fabric Guide

When we couldn’t find the perfect nightwear fabric, we knew we had to make our own. Standard cotton has a 150 thread count; ours packs in 284, whilst using 88% less water, 62% less energy and no toxic chemicals. Soft, breathable and temperature regulating, organic cotton is also stronger and therefore longer lasting than standard cotton.

Our nightwear is of exceptional quality and relaxing to care for. We recommend washing at 30 degrees.

Superfine Organic Cotton

Machine wash with similar colours at 30º
Line dry if possible
Iron on reverse

100% GOTS-certified organic cotton.

Our hero fabric, the mainstay of our collection and the perfect year-round weight.
Providing maximum comfort, a super-soft and luxurious feel and a sleepy finish.

Made with a partner mill in India, close to where the organic cotton is grown.  Standard cotton has a 150-thread count; Yawn's Superfine Organic Cotton packs in 284. The highest count woven for the finest profile. It's naturally strong, soft and smooth. Breathable and temperature regulating. Put simply: more threads, less sweat.

Apparently some people take their PJs to the dry cleaners. For the rest of us, Yawn nightwear is also easy to care for. Chuck your pjs in the wash like we do - they'll feel even softer over time.

Superfine Micromodal

Wash with similar colours at 30º
Line dry if possible
Iron on reverse

95% micromodal, 5% elastane.

We use this luxury fabric in our range as it has a touch of stretch. It has a premium softness that feels wonderful on the skin and also drapes beautifully. Lightweight & breathable - it doesn’t trap heat or sweat, is 50% more water absorbent than cotton and resistant to shrinkage. This fabric holds it’s shape well and has strong sustainability credentials because it’s made from beech fibres.

Cashmere and Merino Wool Mix

Delicate wash in the machine or hand wash

5% cashmere, 45% merino wool, 25% viscose, 25% polyamide.

We manufacture this very special wool mix for our sleep socks.  The yarns are sourced in Italy and then the wool is made for us by a mill in Portugal, close to the factory.  The combination of cashmere and merino wool gives a very luxury hand-feel.  The viscose and polyamide is added to the mix to provide a long-lasting durability.
